From my balcony window in Zürich I have watched the nearly untouched rowan-berries for three month now and wondered when the Fieldfares would come and eat them. In Sweden, where I used to live, Waxwings and Thrushes finish them already in october by the latest. Waxwings seldom come this far south, but Fieldfares breed here – so where are they? Well, today after the morning windy snowfall they suddently hit the tree. I said to my wife, because I was up in something else, ”I have so many pictures of this happening i Sweden”. But she confinced me; ”You are a nature photographer and You have not even been out today”. ”Okay” I said, ”I just have to raise the ISO”, because it was till still quite windy.
